Amclass abandonment and mistreatment, a new beginning was born. Here, we don’t just care for “pets.” Here, we save lives. Every animal has a name, a personality, and a unique story. And each one of them now has the chance to start over, because here we give love, care, and hope.

Founded by Siulsan and Mateus, a couple who gave up their jobs and a stable life to live with their feet in the mud and their hearts in the mission, this project was born from the outrage of seeing animals being treated like trash. Cold, hungry, sick, ignored by a world that is too rushed to look into the eyes of those who only know how to love.

We really need help!

What hurts the most is seeing, in their eyes, the question no animal should ever have to ask: “Is someone going to take care of me?” Now I am facing an even bigger challenge: a debt of $18.098,43 that threatens the shelter’s operation. Without help, I will not be able to keep the place running, and the animals will be left without shelter, without protection, without a future.

Meet Susan!



Susan has been rescuing animals for more than 20 years. Since she was young, seeing abandoned and mistreated dogs became a pain that turned into purpose. In 2012, alongside her husband, she founded the Pró Animal NGO to give love, protection, and a new chance to those who never had anything.

Today, more than 40 dogs and cats depend entirely on the shelter. Many arrive marked by hunger, fear, and violence, but here they find treatment, care, and hope. In our region, there are almost no rescue resources, and many times, Pró Animal Shelter is the only chance they have.

Without government support, the shelter survives thanks to Siulsan’s daily effort and the generosity of those who believe in doing good. When Esponja arrived to us, he was trembling with fear. We stayed by his side, showing calm and affection, and little by little he began to trust. Soon he was happily running around the house. We thought we were giving him a home, but it was Esponja who gave us back joy, hope, and true love.

At first, I didn’t even know if I would adopt both of them. But when I saw them together, everything changed. They were shy and insecure, but there was hope in their eyes. Little by little they trusted me, and today they are more than our dogs. They are part of the family and living proof that love transforms everything.

She arrived frightened, not understanding what affection was. For days, she just watched me in silence, but little by little she accepted our touch and discovered love. The rescue seemed to be hers, but she was the one who rescued me, giving back hope, peace, and a love I never expected.
